Cap'n Jazz had some Promise Rings folks, right? Compound Red was another well-known Milwaukee emo band. Paris@2AM was Green Bay's emo band that went "rawk" w/ Death & Taxes & God & the Baby Jesuses (Cody), so it happened all across the state, but Milwaukee and Chicago had a lot of the most popular (worldwide) units."
